George’s words

Dear champions of self-acceptance,

If Botox, fillers and a new look can help you feel more yourself, perhaps you can understand that someone else’s journey might look different.

Live and let live.

A little more room for each other

Live and let live. I love the simple kindness in George’s words.

I think the more comfortable we become with ourselves, the easier it can be to give others room to be themselves. That doesn’t mean we never judge. It means we can catch ourselves and ask whether something really needs our opinion.

Social media makes comparison so easy, especially when it comes to celebrities. Why did he wear that? Why the fillers? We can be very quick to comment on someone else’s face, clothes or choices, even when those choices have nothing to do with us.

For me, respecting someone’s choice doesn’t mean I have to want it for myself. My brother is a doctor who offers Botox and filler treatments, but the thought of a needle anywhere near my face? Gush, even if it were free! 😂 Never say never, but for now I’ll pass.

What I take from George’s message is that the understanding we want for ourselves should reach other people too, even when their journey looks different from ours.

Live and let live. A little less judgment, a little more room for each other.

Rachel 💜
