Boy George performed his song “We Will Dance Again” in public for the first time at a Vancouver shul — the slogan carried by survivors of the Nova music festival massacre of October 7.

During the performance, the audience cheered after the lyrics, “I stand with the Jews.”

“We will be playing my version of ‘We Will Dance Again’ at 4.20 am tomorrow morning on Boy George FM… I want to honour the victims of the Nova Festival… Tomorrow is a special and very sad day. Never forget!” — Boy George, October 6, 2026

Together we are not just here for the music — we are holding space to remember. He made this song from grief, and turned it into a promise: that we will all dance again, in peace. For Nova.

From the listening room

We gathered in the CultYourVibe listening room to hear Boy George’s “We Will Dance Again” together. The wait was longer than we expected, but the room filled with conversation, encouragement and a little gentle humour. Waiting together became part of the memory.

When the song finally arrived, we shared a moment of remembrance through the music. Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought warmth and kindness to the room. If you were there, or if the song has touched you, you’re welcome to share what the experience meant to you below.

A special thank you to Jo Solar, our song scout, for helping moderate the room and for the time and care she puts into spotting and counting new songs by hand. Every tally reflects her own listening and attention.

Would you like to be our second in command for future listening chats? Leave a comment below if you’d like to help welcome listeners and keep the room friendly. It takes a team 🫖

Boy George to visit the Nova memorial site ahead of his Israel concerts

According to Yuval Erel’s report, Boy George will meet survivors and bereaved families at the site near Kibbutz Re’im. He’ll hold a joint press conference with Sylvan Adams, president of the World Jewish Congress in Israel, alongside Nova founders Omri Sassi and Ofir Amir, survivors and freed hostages.

“I want to be there in person, to express my support for the survivors and families, and to dedicate a moment of memory and honor to those who are no longer with us.” — Boy George, as quoted in the report · English translation

His connection to Nova began at the 06:29 memorial exhibition in London.

The November 4 Tel Aviv show at Menora Mivtachim Arena is sold out. The November 7 second show is dedicated to the Nova community, with 1,500 tickets donated by Sylvan Adams, the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem and Live Nation Israel for survivors and bereaved families, distributed by the Nova nonprofit.

Boy George stands by “We Will Dance Again” amid backlash

In a report for The Telegraph, journalist Nicole Lampert explores the response to “We Will Dance Again” and George’s determination to continue expressing his support for Jewish people through his music.

The report traces the song’s inspiration to his visit to the Nova exhibition in London, where he met survivor May Hayat. It describes personal and professional fallout following the song’s release on social media, drawing on accounts from George, his manager Paul Kemsley and friends. Kemsley expresses pride in George’s commitment to his beliefs.

With the single’s wider release approaching, this coverage adds context to the song we shared in our listening room. Our community remains a space for remembrance, compassion and respectful conversation.
